Eastside Flea Spring Market - May 11 & 12

I’ll be back at Eastside Flea for my only market (outside of the studio) this Spring, May 11-12th.

There will be plenty of Summer events happening at City Centre Artist Lodge this year (not just mural fest)! This means there will be lots of opportunities to visit my studio (more details to come).

“A Closer Look”, Kay Meek Arts Centre, May 22 - June 30

I’m happy to share that I’ll also be in a trio exhibition in West Vancouver at the Kay Meek Arts Centre. I was selected alongside artist Emily Cowan & Joanne Frewer, as we all create engaging artwork that invites viewers to take a closer look at art - both physically & thematically. Alongside the artists’ strong sense of composition, colour & space, & references to traditional 'women's work', the show will offer visitors a meaningful & enjoyable experience.

The exhibition will run May 22 - June 30 and will include an opening reception, as well as an Artists Talk Livestream on the YouTube, produced by WVCAC (West Vancouver Community Arts Council). This will give artists the opportunity to share insights into their inspirations, process & practice, & take questions from viewers in a live moderated presentation (details TBD).

West of Main Art Walk - May 25-26

Last but not least! I’ll be participating in the West of Main Art Walk presented by Artists in Our Midst, May 25-26, 11am-5pm. There will be at least three other artists (Elana Sigal, Devorah Peterson, Denise Coles) from City Centre Artist Lodge open, as per usual other studios will likely be open throughout the weekend, so be sure to stop by and explore!

West Of Main Art Walk Open Studio Tour & Sale

“From Point Grey to Main Street and from Granville Island to 41st Avenue in Vancouver - explore and engage with artists in their individual studios over one weekend in spring. Be sure to visit our satellite studios - Kits Neighborhood House, St Philips Church, the City Centre Motel, and St Helens Church where you’ll find multiple artists showing and demonstrating in a group setting.”

February 2024 - Update

  • Joy of Painting - 2013 Re-Release

  • Shop Update: Heart Cards

  • COLLECTIVE CHAOS - MARCH MINI Show at Slice of Life

This past month I've been taking things a little slower than usual. I've been focusing most of my time on recovering from the end of year burnout and working on a commission (which I'm excited to share in next month's update).

Joy of Painting - 2013 Re-Release

I'm happy to share the availability of a painting I completed back in 2013! Yes, 2013! The painting has lived with my parents for the past 10 years, but alas they've downsized and this beauty needs a new home. It currently fills a wall in my apartment, but I'd love to give it a new home with more space to breathe. I even have a time-lapse video to share with you (because I'm a timelapse hipster, I've been documenting my process before it was cool).

Shop Update: Heart Cards

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, so I've added a few cross-stitch heart cards to my online shop. Why not send one that special someone? Shipping & studio pick up options available at checkout.

COLLECTIVE CHAOS - MARCH MINI Show at Slice of Life

I'll be exhibiting something mini at this collective MARCH MINI show next month. Save the date & RSVP so you can jump the line if space fills. There will be music, merch and a door prize!

Date & Time
Saturday, March 2
7:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. PST

Location

July 2019 - Update

  • Glitch Series 03

  • Solo Exhibition: I Come From a Long Line of Machines

Glitch Series 03

This past month I’ve been spending approximately 20-24 hours per week cross-stitching whenever possible. Why, you might ask? I was determined to finish Glitch Series 03. I’m happy to say that I did it! This series will be framed in 18x24” frames, each cross-stitch and glitch image is approx. 5.5 inches. I’m so happy to have another series under my belt, but I’m also looking forward to completing Glitch Series 04 which is currently in progress.

Solo Exhibition - I Come From a Long Line of Machines

Only a month away till my solo exhibition: I Come From A Long Line of Machine at the Ranger Station Art Gallery, in Harrison, BC. If you haven’t made any August long weekend plans, why not make a day trip out to Harrison for the opening reception on August 4th, starting at 2pm? The show will include Glitch Series 01, a new series of Instruction Tables, The Machine: Knitting Ouroboros, Think Like a Human Act Like a Machine, When I Cross-Stitch I Feel Like a Machine, and a few other Glitch Series pieces!

Glitch Series 03 - Progress

I’ve been working on hard on Glitch Series 03 and my goal is to finish the series by the end of the month. I only have three more to complete the series for a total of 9. Then I’m planning to finish Glitch Series 04 which is already in progress.

I’ve recently spent some time updating my Etsy Shop with a range of original art, prints, and pinback buttons. I’m also looking for local artisan shops to sell my work at, so if you know of any shops I should check out, please let me know!

Solo Exhibition: Ranger Station Art Gallery

This summer I have a solo exhibition, I Come From A Long Line of Machines, at the Kent Harrison Arts Council - Ranger Station Art Gallery in Harrison, BC. The exhibition will run from August 3-25, with an opening reception taking place on Sunday, August 4th from 2-4pm. The exhibition consists of my MFA thesis work as well as new works I’ve created since graduate school.

Artist Residency: Vermont Studio Center

After my solo exhibition in Harrsion, I’ll be taking off to the Vermont Studio Center for a 4-week residency, from September 1-27th. “The VSC is the largest international residency program in the US, hosting more than 50 visual artists and writers each month from across the country and around the world”. The artist residency will provide the time and opportunity to deepen my practice and network with other artists. Established visiting artists will give public talks and attend open studio sessions. I will also have the chance to give an artist talk and share my practice further through a slide presentation.
