Etsy Shop Relaunch!
After a hiatus during my studies in Winnipeg, I finally got around to relaunching my Etsy shop. I worked really hard on rephotographing my art and presenting it in a way that makes it more appealing to purchase and place in homes like yours!
Stay tuned for updates on my social media pages (Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter) as I'll be posting new items to my shop every week or so.
Below are a few items you'll find already posted, click here to see the whole shop.
New Cross-Stitched Portrait in Progress: Diane Arbus
First I cross-stitched Yayoi Kusama, now I'm working on another Woman Artist Portrait of Diane Arbus. Diane Arbus was a photographer, she focused her lens on unique subjects, outcasts, or those who were often referred to as "freaks". Her style was very much in your face, intimate, and powerful. She has been an inspiration of mine ever since I discovered her during my BFA. Check out the progress photos below of her cross-stitched portrait!
#WRYOUTHMURAL
The White Rock Youth Mural is almost complete! I spent a weekend in May working with my fellow artist mentor, Rachel Kirkpatrick, as well as the students from Elgin Park Secondary School, painting their vision and watching it come to life. We are still waiting patiently for the city to remove a tree towards the end of the mural. Here we will be adding a quote and a QR code, which will link to a web page documenting how the project came together.
Please forgive me as I don't have photos of the finished mural, progress photos will have to do. Stay tuned for photos of when it's finally done!
Paint by Numbers Series
Since I spent this month mainly focused on the relaunch on my Etsy shop, starting Diane Arbus, and working on the White Rock Youth Mural, the Paint by Numbers Series took a bit of a back burner. I also recently broke my sewing needle while I was working on the third painting. Nevertheless, I hope to get back to working on this series as it's an ongoing body of work that'll take a substantial amount of time and patience to complete. Check out a few progress photos below!
