This past month I’ve been taking it easy and having a much needed hiatus from working on new projects. But a couple weeks ago I rented a studio to photograph several projects that I’ve been wanting to document with professional lighting. A big focus for this photoshoot was of course documenting my most recent book project!
I also wanted to announce that I have extended the pre-order deadline for “Invisible Labour: Cross-Stitching, Feminism, & the Collective Strength of Women” to September 13th.
So if you want to order a book, please head over to my shop! For those who have already placed an order, please note that orders will be shipped at the beginning of October.
I also photographed my Ama’s old handkerchief box that my Aunt had sent me from Winnipeg earlier this year. The box is delicate and fragile, but what I love most is that you can tell that it carries so much love and memory within it. The box is decoupaged with a floral fabric print, which I scanned and used to create the cover for my book.
I’m not exactly sure which direction my practice will go in the next coming months. But I will most likely be taking more time for reflection and journaling. I want to explore what’s important and inspiring to me at this moment in time, as I’m sure this will guide me on my next path.
